Potential New Members

Thinking of joining Phi Sigma Pi at Clemson? We would love to see you at one of our recruitment events! Check out some of our requirements and frequently asked questions below.

What is Phi Sigma Pi?

Phi Sigma Pi is a national honor fraternity based on a tripod of ideals: scholarship, leadership, and fellowship. We are an inclusive organization dedicated to promoting lifelong learning, inspiring Members to lead, and cultivating lasting fraternal bonds, while always conducting our lives with honor. Our events are always planned around the 3 pillars of our tripod.

Why should I join?

For a lot of us, we found our Clemson family through PSP. We are a support system for each other, and we are all friends with each other. Almost everybody came to a recruitment event, and fell in love with the people in our fraternity, and the culture of fellowship that we are proud to have cultivated.

What are the requirements to join?

To join our fraternity, you must have a Clemson GPA of 3.0 or greater. This means that first-semester freshmen are unfortunately ineligible to join, as you don't have a GPA yet! Fret not, you can join the next semester once you get your GPA.

What would be expected of me as an initiate?

When you decide to rush for us, we have an initiate process that involves attending informational sessions that teach you about our fraternity's history and significant events. You also complete a project called a member memoir that teaches you the ins and outs of our local chapter, and all of the current members in it! An additional note: Phi Sigma Pi as a whole has a zero tolerance policy on hazing. You will not be pressured into doing anything during your initiation, or throughout your membership.

What would be expected of me as a full member?

As a full member, you are required to attend a certain number of events during the semester. Events are always at the end of the days so classes don't get in the way. There are plenty of opportunities to get your hours! You also have dues that are due to the national office that are recurring on a semester basis. We do provide financial assistance if you require it!
